I hope you are all doing well.

It's almost the end of 2022 and the beginning of a new year. Because of this I think it would be a good idea to remember what happen this year on sngall/beegall and got your feedbacks and opinions about your gallery. I will also give you mine.

As I said on the last post I don't think there will be any update this month except for a christmas gift.

So let's start to see what happened on 2022

2022: The comeback

I think the main event of 2022 was my comeback. After more than a year without any update and with sngall/beegall down for 3 weeks in May. I finally cameback and restarted to work on the gall.

In 7 months lot of things have changed. It started by an important update for me, merging the code between beegall and sngall. It was the reason why I couldn't update the gall before. Because I always had to work 2 times more, it was really exhausting and annoying to do. Once it was done it was much easier to create new things and solve bugs. 

The text editor also changed for a better one (in my opinion). I was really affraid to change it because it's an important part of the gall. There is not every functionalities yet but I think now it's more convenient to use it on phone and computer. It's also easier to maintain because the last one was outdated.

After this we finally solved the slowness problem! The gall goes much faster than before and all your meme and post about it was so funny. I was laughing a lot at this moment, thank you.

Another major update for the gall was the stickers and the cakeday. It was an idea I got for making the gall more fun to use and another way for users to reward their favorite posts or comments. I wasn't sure it would be a good idea or you would like it but I think sometimes it's better to make it and see if the user like it rather than explaining the idea and nobody understand and say "it's bad! boooooh". It's not exactly like I expected but I'm proud of it and glad to see you using it well. It's also a lot of work to try to release new stickers with new powers for major event.

For the cakeday I thought it was a funny way to celebrate the day you register on the gall.

Also there were many little updates, new design, facebook/instagram embed finally back, weibo embedding, etc ....

So it was a really tough and interesting year for the gall.

2023: More stickers?

I will try to keep doing 1 update every month or at least 2 every month because it's a lot of work.

I still have lot of bugs to correct (the 'search' bug, reset password bug, design bug for other browser, etc ...) and lot of your suggestion to code (color text, activate/desactivate adult post, filter gifter comments, etc ...).

I also want to keep making more stickers for special events (seollal, chuseok, etc ...) but also stickers that wouldn't come with special events. I would probably also try to create a business model around the stickers because actually I earn 0$ with sngall and begall. I even lose money ㅋㅋㅋㅋ. I plan to remove the ads since they don't bring any money anymore. But you don't have to worry, sngall and beegall will keep being 100% free and users will still be able to have free stickers. It would be only a little rewards for those who wants to support the gall by donating money. It can sounds scary but trust me. And if you don't like it at all I can remove it and find another way.

I will also look for uploading photos on our gall and not Imgur anymore. Then we can have a full control of it and upload better qualities photos too. But it could be expensive so I'm not sure if it will happen on 2023 or not.

In 2023 I will try to create a new skin, the second winner of skin contest and I will try to make a dark version of beegle skin.

I'm also looking for a way to make the gall more popular. I know it's good and peacefull here with few users but I'm sure it would be funnier and more interesting with more users.

I think it's already a lot of work for 2023, and I hope you will appreciate this next year more than now.

I want to thanks everyone for being active, old and new users. thank you for making this gall alive because without you there would be no sngall and beegall. I know I'm not the best developer and I create lot of bugs and make lot of mistakes but you are really nice and tolerant with me, I really appreciate it. You are the heart and the soul of the gallery, I'm just your servant ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ.
